Project on Elk Park Knoll Trail
Saturday, July 25
Elk Park Knoll Trail has some erosion problems and a narrow spot. Volunteers will work to address the issues.
Volunteers meet at 7:00 a.m. to carpool and should be back to their cars around 4 or 4:30, weather depending. We'll carpool to drive up the Pikes Peak Highway to the trailhead. The hike in to the narrow area to widen is about .5 mile.
Meet at the main parking lot for Red Rock Canyon Open Space off U.S.24/Cimarron.
As with most trail projects, bring water, lunch, snacks, work gloves, sunscreen, sturdy footwear, rain gear, clothing layers, and anything else you would commonly bring on a hike.
