Project Pulling Toadflax
Saturday, June 13
Originally planned for Red Rock Canyon Open Space, with the storm damage and resulting closure of Red Rock open space, the project moved to Garden of the Gods.
Toadflax is an invasive weed. Two main varieties of toadflax invade local areas, Dalmatian and common (yellow). Pulling by hand is one of the methods to control toadflax. Volunteers will walk trails in the selected area and pull toadflax.
Volunteers meet at 8:00 a.m. Work should finish around 3:30 p.m.
As with most trail projects, bring water, lunch, snacks, work gloves, sunscreen, sturdy footwear, rain gear, clothing layers, and anything else you would commonly bring on a hike. For this project, you may also want a small digging tool to help in extracting roots.
