FOTP Committees
By Steven Jennings
Friends of the Peak has a slightly new look this year. At the annual board retreat last November the Board decided to have three committees that address the functions of FOTP. We welcome you to use your own special skills and make a contribution by serving on one of these committees. You will get a better idea of how FOTP works and help out Pikes Peak at the same time.
- The Projects Committee, chaired by Gail Allen, is charged with planning and organizing workdays. As you can imagine, there is lots to do to achieve a successful day of trail work. If you are interested in learning a little more about the inner workings of trail projects contact Gail and find out how you can contribute to this committee and implement the trail working goals of FOTP.
- The Programs Committee, chaired by Steven Jennings, organizes all the activities of the FOTP other than trail work. Public outreach through slide shows, a table at Spring Spree, and fieldtrips are part of the role of the Programs Committee. The committee is also proposing the construction of a toilet facility at the A-frame. There are plenty of ways that you can help with this committee. The committee members should be an eclectic bunch so all the goals of the committee can be met.
- The Membership Committee, chaired by Matt Carpenter, is charged with keeping track of all the membership information. If you know about spreadsheets and data management this is the committee for you.
By helping with this committee you would be helping FOTP run smoothly and with accurate information. Please consider serving FOTP by helping with one of these committees. These are not board-level positions, so you can take on as little or as much as you can handle. Remember this organization is comprised entirely of volunteers so volunteer some of your time to help your fellow members out.
