Thank You VolunteersThere were several groups who gave selflessly this year to ensure our appreciation of the mountain is not diminished by bad trail. These were: The Incline Club: Not only did they maintain the top mile of Barr Trail and build the top portion of the western approach. They gladly ran snacks up and down during the work project while we built the new portion of trail. The Incline Club can be found at www.inclineclub.com. The Trail Dogs: They may have been halted by the forest closure, but they managed to do a pretty good job of repairing the worst of the damage to Barr Trail this year. This devoted group of people, each takes responsibility for a personal mile of trail. The full list of their members and assignments is available on our website at www.fotp.com. The Carpenters Local 515: Who builds our fantastic bridges? Carpenters. Our own local 515 returned again this year to add a bridge to the Crags to Devil's Playground trail. They had committed to assist with a couple other bridges as well, but the closure caused us to postpone those projects. Hopefully these dedicated people will be willing to return next year to complete the bridge on the Ring the Peak. For more information on the carpenters, check out their website at www.carpenters515.com. Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado: VOC supplied the organizational skills, the tools, crew leaders, and support to make it possible to put 275 volunteers on the top of Pikes Peak, and have them all working in the same direction and with the same standards. Without them, the summit project would not have been possible. For more information on VOC check out www.voc.org. Additionally, the following individuals each volunteered one or more day to assist in building or repairing trails on Pikes Peak.
