Hosting a Project

By Guy de Chadenedes

WANTED: Individuals or small teams to handle the important job of hosting work days for Friends of the Peak.

When we are on the peak, doing our thing, the hosts perform the support activities during and after each project. None of the work is hard, but it does need to be done. So, what does a host do? Let your mind wander. The host provided water, and ensures the tools are looked after and in effect, they “put on the party” at the conclusion of each work day. You say you love to be out of doors, and you love the peak, but you do not feel fit enough to dig in the dirt and build trails all day? Then here is your chance to join in. Become a project host. You will be part of the team that closes the gaps in the Ring the Peak Trail, and you’ll have a great time too. If this position is interesting to you, call 471-3145 and we’ll talk. We need hundreds of volunteers to build the trail, but we only need eight hosts. So call soon.
