Colorado Fourteeners Initiative will offer a training event for the CFI staff and Crew Leaders on Pikes Peak, this year. The training will focus on high altitude trail restoration, and introduction to new trail construction. The trail to be used in the maintenance exercise is the lower portion of the Crags to Devil’s Playground trail. CFI did some work on this trail last year. It has been selected because of its high need and probable availability in the early season. New trail construction techniques will be demonstrated on the Raspberry Mountain Trail.
The CFI training dates coincide with the June 14, 15 FOTP work dates. Much will be learned on both sides of this encounter.
