Buffalo Creek Canyon Trail
(aka St. Mary’s Falls Trail)
Alternate Thursdays starting with June 3, 2010
Thank you for volunteering
to participate in this project. We are looking forward to seeing you. Project
partners: United States Forest Service, and City of WHERE: We will meet at the
parking lot at the top of PARKING: Those who arrive
on time or early will be allowed to drive to the trail head at the collapsed
tunnel #3. Those who prefer not to drive on the closed, dirt road, and those who
come late, will park in the lot at the intersection of Gold Camp, WHAT TO WEAR: Dress in
layers. The days may be warm and dry or cool and wet, or both or anything in
between. Bring rain gear. Wear a hat, sturdy boots, and bring work gloves. WHAT TO BRING: Water, at
least a ½ gallon per person.
Your lunch and/or snacks.
Sunscreen, Insect repellent
Hat, and gloves
A camera if you want

WHEN: The gate will open
for a few minutes at
8:15 Crew assignments and proceed to the work site. The hike will start at about
an hour and get longer each week. WHAT WE WILL BE DOING:
We will be repairing this historic
trail. We will install drainage features, steps, and reestablish the critical
edge on the trail. OTHER INFORMATION: Friends of the Peak will provide tools and training. All outdoor activities involve some risk and hazards. You will be asked to sign a waiver of responsibility acknowledging FOTP and our partners will not be held liable for any mishap, and agreeing that you will abide by the instructions of FOTP during the project for your own safety, and the safety of others. Please read the enclosed waiver, complete the form, sign it, and bring it with you to the project. An adult must accompany all persons under the age of 16. Pets do not make good project participants. Please leave them at home.

This release applies to any losses or injuries, which may occur as a result of or during my participation in this project. I grant FOTP, and other project sponsors permission to utilize my image in photographic recordings of the project and waive any right to claim compensation in exchange for participating in the project. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations of FOTP while participating in this project. I hereby acknowledge that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to the foregoing waiver and release agreement. I hereby acknowledge that this release is a binding contract. I understand the statement of risk above and I assume all of the risk and will hold all project sponsors and their agents, officers, and employees harmless from any and all liability.
